Minimalist Ikats

The time-honoured Ikat technique, with its origins in Indonesia, is one of meticulous imperfection. Prior to weaving, the yarns are dyed and knotted to produce complex designs.

Our contemporary take on Ikat is more deliberate. The weft threads of the rug are woven into the loom in an uneven sequence. The results mimic the blurry patterns of Ikat whilst retaining a mesmerising precision. There’s beauty in the chaos.
